Due to the limited availability of Arnis or wooden/rattan sticks and padded sticks to practice with for himself and his students, Segundino Asiñero decided to start making his own. He started making live rattan sticks in 1989. Since then, he has refined the process, and in 2005, he started making padded rattan sticks for training. When fellow Martial Arts enthusiasts saw his work, they started purchasing them. Since then, he has sold countless rattan sticks and padded sticks, usually to his fellow Martial Arts enthusiasts and PE teacher of the Department of Education teaching Arnis. His rattan and padded sticks have already reached as far as Denmark, Germany, and Ireland through his foreign students, whom he has also taught Arnis to.

Modernized Martial Arts - History

In May of 1989, Modernized Martial Arts was founded by Segundino "Dino" Asiñero in the municipality of Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, Philippines. The birth of Modernized Martial Arts was made in an effort to unite all Martial Arts practitioners who are divided due to differences in traditional influences, geography, culture, intrigues, and unjust judgment during competitions among the various styles of Martial Arts.

Modernized Martial Arts is a Filipino modernized style of Martial Arts, whose ultimate aim is to unite and enhance solidarity of all Martial Arts enthusiasts, as well as the community , regardless of their differing styles and techniques by defining a common goal. Modernized Martial Arts is used for sport, street fighting, and, most specially, self defense. Modernized Martial Arts should not be used as a means to bully, discriminate, or degrade any individual but to respect the law of Heaven and Earth.

Modernized Martial Arts is the integration of ancient, new, and advanced techniques of the various styles of Martial Arts prioritizing speed and movements of which ninety-five percent (95%) is circular and five percent (5%) is linear. All movements are useful and applicable in all offense and defense directions. Modernized Martial Arts is a study not only in the field of sports but all aspect of human life, everything which is good, practical and useful. Hence, no action is futile.
