Segundino "Dino" Asiñero has devoted his entire life to learning and mastering the different styles of Martial Arts. He has been in the industry for over 35 years, starting at the young age of 11 influenced byhis older brothers. He started with the study of
Kyokushinkai in 1975, and moved on to learn
Sikaran in 1978. His foray into
Sikaran also introduced him to
Arnis. In 1983, he started working as a private detective for Del Monte Phils, Inc. where his skills in Martial Arts complemented his profession. Also, it was in Del Monte Phils, Inc. that he was introduced to the other styles of Martial Arts like
Tang Soo Do,
Aikido,
Kickboxing,
Karatedo, and
Taekwondo thru his peers. He started teaching the different martial arts styles in 1988, and then moved on to found
Modern Martial Arts Academy, Inc. (MMAAI) in 1989. Since then, he has won titles in different styles of Martial Arts, has taught countless students in different styles, and acted as both referee and judge in the different Martial Arts styles. Though he has never formally studied under the different Martial Arts style, he has complemented this limitation through the help of the different Martial Arts books, different Martial Arts video tapes, being invited and joining in the different Martial Arts competitions over the years, keeping up-to-date with the latest trends, rules and regulations of the different Martial Arts systems, and his own hard work, perseverance, and dedication. He has produced talents such as
Bernardino Chu who, among other titles, also bagged the record of being the VIII Czech Open karate champ. Currently, he is busy with teaching Karatedo and Arnis and starting his
own Arnis line.
