Due to the limited availability of Arnis or wooden/rattan sticks and padded sticks to practice with for himself and his students, Segundino AsiƱero decided to start making his own. He started making live rattan sticks in 1989. Since then, he has refined the process, and in 2005, he started making padded rattan sticks for training. When fellow Martial Arts enthusiasts saw his work, they started purchasing them. Since then, he has sold countless rattan sticks and padded sticks, usually to his fellow Martial Arts enthusiasts and PE teacher of the Department of Education teaching Arnis. His rattan and padded sticks have already reached as far as Denmark, Germany, and Ireland through his foreign students, whom he has also taught Arnis to.
